Downtown Cleveland is centered around Public Square and includes a wide range of diversified districts. Downtown Cleveland is home to the traditional Financial District and Civic Center, as well as the Theatre District, which houses Playhouse Square Center, and mixed-use neighborhoods such as the Flats and the Warehouse District, which are occupied by residential, industrial and office buildings and also by restaurants and bars.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
Located on the shores of Lake Erie, the Rock Hall is dedicated to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential artists, producers, and other people who have in some major way influenced the music industry, particularly in the area of rock and roll.
Celebrated architect I. M. Pei was commissioned to design the building.
Fountain of Eternal Life
Also known as the War Memorial Fountain and Peace Arising from the Flames of War, is a statue and fountain in Cleveland, Ohio designed by Cleveland Institute of Art graduate Marshall Fredericks and dedicated on May 30, 1964. The sculpture, which serves as the city's major memorial to its citizens that served in World War II, is situated on Memorial Plaza, which is part of the Cleveland Mall.
Union Terminal Built during the skyscraper boom of the 1920s and 1930s, the Terminal Tower was the second-tallest building in the world when it was completed.
Our Bridges From the mouth of the Cuyahoga River to its end, there are 84 bridges, 20 of which cross navigable waters. Nine distinct types of bridges traverse the Cuyahoga. including movable bridges which are either raised or swung to one side or another, allowing over-traffic to pass.
Hope Memorial Bridge
Formerly the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, this art deco truss bridge crosses the Cuyahoga River. The bridge features pairs of statues designed by sculptor Henry Hering and architect Frank Walker (titled the "Guardians of Traffic") that stand on pylons at each end of the viaduct, symbolizing progress in transportation. In the 1980's the bridge was renamed in honor of William Henry Hope, a local stonemason and father of Bob Hope.
